Hospital websites built to scale past one location
Many locations, hundreds of doctors, one platform. We build it on Drupal so patients find care fast and your team runs it without a dev ticket.
Where Patients Find Care, and You Find Patients
A single-hospital website is mostly a brochure. A healthcare system is a different problem. Multiple locations, hundreds of doctors, departments that each need their own front door, and patients who expect to find the right one and book in a few taps.
We build for that on Drupal from day one, and plan the move so your Google rankings come with you.
We've done this for hospital systems before:
Aster Hospitals: 8 sites into 1
HCG Hospitals: 25+ hospitals, one Drupal website, AI-powered search
Physicians Insurance: Drupal migration, 2 sites into 1
Kingman Regional: Drupal 11 rebuild
Altru Health: support and maintenance
Healthcare organizations call us in when:
Multiple hospital sites should be one. Separate codebases, duplicated content, one inconsistent brand.
Patients can't find the right doctor or department. Thin profiles, clumsy search, enquiries that stall.
Booking and enquiry flows break on mobile. WhatsApp, OPD, call-back, and CRM should feel like one path.
A migration can't lose rankings. Redirects and metadata mapped before launch, so organic traffic holds.
Your team wants to edit without a dev ticket. Editors own content. Engineers own architecture.
Compliance can't wait. HIPAA, GDPR, and WCAG built in from day one.

Kingman Regional Medical Center
A Faster, Safer Site Kingman Runs Itself
Kingman Regional came to us for support and left with a new platform. Their Drupal 10 site carried security vulnerabilities, and the CMS fought their editors at every turn. We rebuilt it on Drupal 11: a secure upgrade, a full accessible redesign, and a faster digital front door for patients. No legacy technical debt came across with it. The piece their team values most is Canvas-powered editing, which lets them build and change pages on their own, with no developer in the loop. A hospital that once waited on tickets now runs its own site, on the newest and most secure release of Drupal.
Aster Hospitals
8 Hospital Sites Unified for Aster
Aster runs a hospital network across the Middle East and India, and its web presence had splintered into eight separate regional websites. Each carried its own look, and location data lived wherever that site happened to sit. We brought all eight under one top-level domain on Drupal, with a single brand identity and one platform behind it. The work started with research: competitive analysis and customer questionnaires to learn what Aster’s patients actually look for. We built a faceted search so a visitor can find anything across every hospital and narrow it down fast. Then we handed the regional marketing teams a component library, so they build and update their own pages without writing a line of code. One brand, one platform, and local teams still in control.
Altru Health System
Proactive Drupal Support That Kept Altru Health System Secure and Scaling
Altru Health System delivers care to over 230,000 residents in northeast North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. They came to us looking for Drupal support. Their previous vendor stayed reactive and rarely thought past the open ticket. We stepped in with a security-first model: core and module updates, proactive vulnerability monitoring, and fixes handled before they turned into exposures. Along the way we recreated complex legacy features on a current version of Drupal and pushed the site to near 100% ADA compliance. What began as a support contract became a long-term partnership that now spans redesign, search, and accessibility. For a health system, that means no scramble when traffic spikes or an advisory drops, and a team that stays.
Physicians Insurance
2 Sites Merged Into 1 for Physicians Insurance
Two sites, two codebases, and members who saw one organization as two. We migrated PhyIns.com and MedchoiceRRC.com to Drupal 10 and folded both into the parent platform. Now content lives once and flows across every property, so nothing gets rebuilt site by site. We rebuilt the ERP and LMS API integrations and added a shared resource library members reach from anywhere. The largest physician insurer in Washington State runs as one coherent experience.

BUILDING A PLATFORM THAT CAN EARN YOU PATIENTS
From search to booked appointment
Every hospital website should answer three questions fast.
- Can patients find you?
- Can they find the right doctor?
- Can they book?
We build each step so the next one is a tap away.
Get found: Doctor, department, and location pages built for Google and AI search, with local listings for every center.
Find the right doctor: Rich profiles and filters that take a patient from a symptom or specialty to a name in seconds.
Book or enquire: Booking, WhatsApp, call-back and enquiry forms on every profile and department page.
Follow up: Every request lands in your CRM with its source, doctor, and center, so your team responds first.
Doctor profiles that convert.
Qualifications, experience, languages, OPD timings, locations, and a booking button on every profile.
Search and filters that work.
Filter by specialty, location, hospital, gender, experience, and language. Search by name or condition. Fast on mobile.
A front door for every department.
Each department page links to its doctors, treatments, facilities, and patient stories.
Pages for every center. Address, directions, departments, doctors, and contact numbers, kept current by the local team.
DOCTORS AND DEPARTMENTS
Find the right doctor, fast
The content model makes or breaks a hospital site. We design it before a single page is built, so it holds up at 50 doctors or 1,000.
We’ve built this for hospital networks already.
For Aster Hospitals, we merged location data from eight separate sites onto one platform and built faceted search across the whole network, so a patient finds the right doctor at any hospital in one place. Regional teams update their own location pages through a component library, with no developer and no code.
For Kingman Regional, the team runs its own doctor and department pages in Canvas, shipping changes without waiting on a ticket.
Connected Channels
Patients reach out in different ways. Your team should see every request in one place. We connect the website to the channels patients already use.
How We Work
From first audit to long after launch, our process stays clear and consistent. It's designed for teams who want speed, quality, and scale together.
Audit First
Every engagement starts with an audit of your architecture, content, and goals. The AI framework runs the analysis. A senior engineer validates every finding. You see what's solid and what's risky before any code moves.
Architect for scale
We design Drupal systems built to scale and easy for your team to run. Our architects decide how a problem gets solved. The AI system executes that approach and never improvises its own.
Review & Deliver
Every build is read, challenged, and refined by engineers who could have written it by hand. Code merges only after it clears functional, accessibility, performance, and visual checks. You see progress each sprint.
Stay after launch
Launch is the midpoint. Performance, security, and improvements are covered, and the people who built your site are the people who answer when you need them.
Deeply Invested in the Drupal Ecosystem
We don't just build on Drupal. Our engineers contribute modules, patches, and core fixes back to the platform your site runs on. You'll find our team in the issue queues, at DrupalCons, and in the release notes. For your project, that means answers that come from the source instead of a support forum.

Why is Drupal a strong CMS choice for healthcare organizations?
Drupal gives healthcare organizations the flexibility, security, and scalability to power patient portals, provider directories, and multi-facility sites from one governed platform, while keeping a consistent experience across every touchpoint.
Can Drupal support HIPAA, GDPR, and WCAG accessibility requirements?
Yes. With proper configuration, Drupal is widely used in regulated environments and can meet HIPAA, GDPR, and WCAG accessibility standards, protecting both patient data and the organizations responsible for it.
What Drupal features support secure patient portals and appointment scheduling?
Drupal supports role-based access, multi-level permissions, and robust authentication. Combined with custom content workflows and personalization tools, it enables secure patient portals, easy appointment scheduling, and tailored healthcare experiences.
Can Drupal handle multilingual content for diverse patient populations?
Yes. Drupal's multilingual capabilities and WCAG-compliant accessibility features let health systems deliver inclusive, user-friendly content to patients regardless of language or ability.
How does Drupal perform during high-traffic periods like open enrollment?
Drupal is built for scalability. Caching, load balancing, and optimized architecture let it handle high-traffic events like open enrollment or telehealth peaks without downtime or slowdowns.
Can we migrate from a legacy healthcare system without disrupting patient services?
Yes. With careful planning and testing, Drupal can migrate content, workflows, and integrations from legacy systems without downtime or loss of service. This ensures patient services continue uninterrupted during modernization.
What should I look for in a healthcare Drupal agency?
Look for HIPAA and GDPR experience, secure integrations, and a track record with patient-facing platforms. Specbee has worked with healthcare organizations like the New York State Department of Health, Kingman Regional, Altru Health, Aster Hospitals, Apollo Hospitals, Dr. Reddy's, and the Healthcare Compliance Association, bringing proven expertise in secure, compliant, and patient-centric Drupal solutions.
Does Drupal integrate with EHR, CRM, or telehealth platforms?
Yes. Drupal's API-first architecture connects with EHR systems, CRMs, and telehealth tools, keeping patient data and communications consistent across every system your health system relies on.
What companies are known for building secure, HIPAA-compliant healthcare sites on Drupal?
Specbee builds and supports Drupal sites for healthcare organizations including Altru Health System, Kingman Regional Medical Center, Aster Hospitals and the NYS Department of Health’s Wadsworth Center. That work covers security hardening, a secure Drupal 11 upgrade for Kingman, and near 100% ADA compliance for Altru. HIPAA compliance depends on how protected health information is handled across hosting, integrations and processes, so we scope it per project.
