Web Governance That Keeps Every Government Website Compliant

We help you deliver modern, accessible and ADA compliant digital experiences across every page, department and PDF you publish.

Modernizing Under a Compliance Deadline

Two challenges hit government websites at the same time.

The site gets older and harder to maintain. And it now has to meet accessibility law by a fixed date.

That date comes from the ADA Title II rule. It requires government websites to meet a standard called WCAG 2.1 AA. These sites were often built years before the rule existed.

Meanwhile the site keeps growing. Each department adds its own pages, forms, and PDFs, until no one can check it all by hand.

That is when public sector teams call us. They need to modernize the platform and bring the whole site up to one compliant standard.

We're typically brought in when:

An aging platform needs modernizing and the compliance deadline is already on the roadmap

A WCAG 2.1 AA audit is coming and no one has scanned the full site.

Accessibility issues keep surfacing faster than one team can fix them.

Content quality and branding drift across departments with no shared policy.

Thousands of PDFs sit unremediated and unsearchable.

Our Web Governance Services

One scan finds today's problems. Governance keeps them from coming back, across every page and every department. Here is what that takes.

Accessibility Compliance

COMPLY

An auditor checks your site against WCAG 2.1 AA. So do we, first. We test every template against WCAG 2.1 AA, ADA Title II, and Section 508, then fix the failures before the audit finds them.

Automated Governance Scanning

SCAN

A large government site runs to thousands of pages, more than a team can hand-check every week. Continuous scanning does it for you, flagging accessibility errors, broken links, and quality issues the day they appear.

Content Quality & Brand Standards

STANDARDIZE

Every department publishes in its own style, and the site shows it. We set spelling, readability, and brand rules once, then apply them across every page your teams publish.

PDF & Document Remediation

REMEDIATE

Forms, notices, and reports pile up as PDFs, and screen readers often can't open them. We scan, tag, and remediate each one, so residents using assistive technology can read them.

Data Privacy & Consent

PROTECT

A public website collects data, and a public entity answers for how it is handled. We configure cookie consent, privacy checks, and data controls to the standards you are held to.

Governance Roles & Workflows

GOVERN

When anyone can publish, standards slip and changes go untracked. We set the roles, approval steps, and audit trails, so every publisher works inside the same guardrails and every change stays on record.

How We Work

From first audit to long after launch, our process stays clear and consistent. It's designed for teams who want speed, quality, and scale together.

Audit First

Every engagement starts with an audit of your architecture, content, and goals. The AI framework runs the analysis. A senior engineer validates every finding. You see what's solid and what's risky before any code moves.

Architect for scale

We design Drupal systems built to scale and easy for your team to run. Our architects decide how a problem gets solved. The AI system executes that approach and never improvises its own.

Review & Deliver

Every build is read, challenged, and refined by engineers who could have written it by hand.  Code merges only after it clears functional, accessibility, performance, and visual checks. You see progress each sprint.

Stay after launch

Launch is the midpoint. Performance, security, and improvements are covered, and the people who built your site are the people who answer when you need them.

Deeply Invested in the Drupal Ecosystem

We don't just build on Drupal. Our engineers contribute modules, patches, and core fixes back to the platform your site runs on. You'll find our team in the issue queues, at DrupalCons, and in the release notes. For your project, that means answers that come from the source instead of a support forum.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about Drupal for Government Agencies.

What is web governance for a government website?

Web governance is the practice of keeping a large website accessible, consistent, and compliant as content changes. For a government agency, that means enforcing WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility, brand and content standards, and privacy rules across every department and page, through automated scanning, defined policies, and clear publishing roles rather than manual spot-checks.

What does ADA Title II require for government websites?

The DOJ's 2024 ADA Title II rule makes WCAG 2.1 Level AA the enforceable standard for state and local government web content and mobile apps. Compliance is due by April 26, 2027 for entities serving 50,000 or more people, and April 26, 2028 for smaller entities and special districts, after the DOJ extended both dates by a year in April 2026.

What is the difference between Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA?

Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requires federal agencies to make their electronic and information technology accessible. WCAG 2.1 AA is the technical standard that defines what "accessible" means, and Section 508 references it. ADA Title II now adopts WCAG 2.1 AA for state and local governments too, so most public entities are working toward the same technical bar.

How do you audit a government website for accessibility?

We start with an automated scan of every page, template, form, and PDF, checked against WCAG 2.1 AA. A senior engineer then reviews the findings, confirms the real failures, and ranks them by legal risk and resident impact. You receive a documented report with a prioritized remediation plan, not just a raw list of errors.

Does Drupal help with government accessibility compliance?

Yes. Drupal ships with strong accessibility support in core, follows WCAG guidelines in its admin and themes, and has modules for structured content, alt text enforcement, and accessible forms. That gives a government site a stronger starting point for WCAG 2.1 AA than most platforms, though configuration and ongoing governance still decide the outcome.

How do you keep hundreds of pages compliant over time?

Continuous scanning is the answer. After remediation, automated monitoring checks new and edited content as it publishes, flagging accessibility and quality issues the day they appear. Paired with publishing roles and approval steps, that keeps standards from drifting between formal audits, which is where most large sites lose compliance.

Can you remediate our existing PDF library?

es. Government sites often carry thousands of PDFs that assistive technology cannot read. We scan the library, tag documents for structure and reading order, and remediate them so they meet accessibility standards. For large volumes, we prioritize the documents residents use most, such as forms, applications, and public notices.

What does a government website accessibility audit cost?

Cost depends on the size of the estate and the number of templates, forms, and documents in scope. A single-site audit scopes faster than a multi-department or multi-site one. We run an initial accessibility scan first, then scope an exact quote from what it finds, so pricing reflects your actual site rather than a generic range.
